The City of White Rock invites residents and visitors to the waterfront on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, for a full day of free, family‑friendly festivities at Canada Day by the Bay.
Festivities begin at 12:00 p.m. with welcoming remarks from Mayor Megan Knight, followed by an opening ceremony featuring the Canadian National Anthem and bag pipe performance.
“Canada Day by the Bay is a vibrant celebration that truly highlights what makes White Rock special. With our iconic Pier and stunning waterfront setting, there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” said White Rock Mayor Megan Knight. “From live performances and hands‑on activities to local vendors stretching across the Promenade, Canada Day 2026 brings our community together in true Canadian spirit — all leading up to a dazzling fireworks finale over Semiahmoo Bay.”
Live entertainment will run throughout the afternoon, including electronic sets by local DJ Christina and performances from community groups and local artists, all building toward an unforgettable evening on the main stage. This year’s headliner, Bad Medicine, takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. and delivers a true‑to‑life musical tribute to Bon Jovi that will keep the crowd dancing.
The popular Kid’s Zone, sponsored by School of Rock, returns with a full day of arts and crafts, face painting, and a visit from Korki the Clown. School of Rock will also host an interactive booth where kids can try out a variety of instruments and learn their very first chord, a fun, welcoming introduction to making music.
Families can also enjoy Vendor Row along the Promenade, featuring local goods, treats, and artisan favourites presented by the White Rock Museum & Archives.
The celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks display presented by Thrifty Foods at 10:15 p.m., lighting up the night sky over Semiahmoo Bay.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, take transit, cycle, or carpool to help reduce traffic and parking congestion along the waterfront. Road closures will be in effect prior to the fireworks finale.
This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada. Ce projet a été rendu possible en partie grâce au gouvernement du Canada.
