City of Surrey’s free outdoor concert series kicks off in July
The City of Surrey’s Sounds of Summer free concert series returns with a diverse lineup of talented musical artists. Every Wednesday evening in July and August, residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy live music at some of Surrey’s most scenic outdoor spaces. From jazz and R&B to Punjabi fusion and salsa, this year’s lineup features a vibrant mix of genres and local talent.
"Sounds of Summer is one of the many ways to connect and enjoy the outdoors in Surrey," said Mayor Brenda Locke. "What began in 2012 at Darts Hill Garden Park has grown into a city-wide tradition that is supporting the development of a healthy, engaged and connected city. Our Council is proud to offer these free, family-friendly events that bring our community together and celebrate our vibrant culture. Join us this summer to discover new artists, explore our parks, and be part of a tradition that continues to grow year after year."
New this year, Sounds of Summer presents two interactive concerts that offer audiences a chance to engage with the music through fun, guided dance instruction: line dancing on July 30 and salsa on August 27.
Each concert runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering the perfect midweek escape for music lovers of all ages. The 2025 concert lineup includes:
• July 9 – Connor Nelson with opener Glisha at Francis Park
• July 16 – Ayla Tesler-Mabé with Ivan Hartle at Newton Athletic Park
• July 23 – Fionn with Royal Oak at Bear Creek Park
• July 30 – The Boot Scooters (with line dancing instruction) at Surrey Civic Plaza
• August 13 – Music City Showcase at Clayton Community Centre, featuring Maddy Lofvendahl, Kiara Dokaj, Colin Sankey, and Khyla Granstrom
• August 20 – Sukoon Band with Sharanjeet Singh Mand at T.E. Scott Park
• August 27 – Mazacote Salsa Band (with salsa dancing instruction) at Surrey Civic Plaza
Artists will perform outdoors on a stage with sound equipment. The event is free and no tickets are required. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early to grab a good spot.
